STATEWIDE–There are chances of rain across Indiana starting Thursday, says the National Weather Service.
“As we get a warm front and more humid air coming up, that also increases our chances for rain. We’re going to see that front settle across the state on Thursday and into Friday. Then it will linger across central Indiana through Saturday and Sunday,” said Jason Puma, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.
Puma believes the chances of rain start Thursday.
“Chances of rain are around 20%, then about 50% on Friday. Our best chances of showers are on Saturday and Sunday when we have a 70% chance of rain on both of those days,” said Puma.
As of now, Puma does not expect there to be severe weather in the coming days, but an isolated thunderstorm is possible.
“Next week on Monday, we do have a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Then there is a 50% chance on Tuesday. It is springtime in Indiana and that does mean rain showers,” said Puma.
There was frost reported across Indiana Tuesday and Wednesday, but Puma believes it is highly unlikely that we will see frost again until the fall.
